About the Role
The Carpenters Training Center is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Drywall and Metal Framing Installation Instructor to provide hands-on training to members. This role focuses on guiding members through the full process of installation, preparation, and maintenance, emphasizing safety, quality, and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement instructional programs on framing and drywall installation, including understanding blueprints, layout and industry best practices.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and training in preparation, material selection, installation techniques, and finishing processes.
- Assess member progress, providing individualized feedback and support to foster growth and skill development.
- Remain current on industry advancements, tools, techniques, and trends related to framing and drywall installation.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with members, fostering engagement and motivation in the learning process.
Requirements
- Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters.
- At least 10 years of experience in framing and drywall installation.
- Deep knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in framing and drywall installation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse group of learners.
- Basic proficiency with PC and tablets, as well as related software for instructional purposes.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze reports and data relevant to instructional outcomes.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks through to completion.
- Able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
