About the Role
The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees, organizes, and coordinates production efforts to meet manufacturing objectives while ensuring the safe operation of equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and direct daily production operations to achieve quality and production goals.
- Anticipate and resolve production issues such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and personnel matters.
- Manage work hours, materials, and workflow to optimize production efficiency.
- Coordinate with other supervisors regarding product flow and workforce requirements.
- Coach, train, orient, and motivate employees to ensure safe and effective performance.
- Manage departmental teams and utilize the hourly certification system for employee development.
- Participate in the selection and interview process for hourly positions.
- Appraise employee performance and recommend promotions, transfers, or work assignments.
- Drive cost reduction, work simplification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Enforce safety, housekeeping, and company policies, including assisting HR with disciplinary procedures.
- Lead and participate in company-sponsored training, site projects, and safety programs.
- Perform administrative tasks including payroll approval and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Team Lead or supervisor is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.
- Ability to supervise in a fast-paced industrial environment.
