About the Role
The Project Manager joins the IT team to ensure the success of initiatives within the Project Portfolio. This role involves managing project planning and execution according to the SOCAN Project Management Framework, advancing best practices, and driving process improvements to enhance service levels.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the improvement of processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and project onboarding.
- Define new processes to help the organization achieve its goals.
- Apply project management best practices, policies, and procedures according to the internal framework.
- Anticipate, monitor, and resolve project issues, risks, and disputes.
- Train and coach project teams on the internal project management framework.
- Mentor project managers to effectively apply best practices.
- Monitor and report project progress to sponsors and stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison for portfolio management activities.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and report preparation.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of progressive experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $1M CAD or teams larger than 20 members.
- Experience in a technical or business environment.
- Knowledge of portfolio and program management.
- Experience leading multiple concurrent projects or project phases.
- Superior understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a focus on Quality Assurance.
- Previous leadership experience in a functional or technical capacity.
- Experience mentoring and coaching teams and peers.
- Demonstrated team building skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience with contract development, negotiation, and vendor management.
- Strong risk analysis, estimation, planning, and decision analysis skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.

- $84,480 - $105,600
