About the Role
Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Cash Receipts Specialist to join our growing team in Garden City, NY. The Cash Receipts Specialist is responsible for managing producer accounting activities, including account cash application and reconciliation, balance resolution, premium corrections, and return premium processing. Collaborate with producers and underwriting teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Posting daily cash deposits received in a variety of ways (EPAY/ACH/Lockbox/Physical Checks etc..).
- Research and proper posting of misapplied/unapplied funds.
- Research and resolve credits on account either through proper application or refund processing.
- First outreach regarding past due/bad debt collections.
- Assisting with DNOC/Cancellation processing and follow-ups.
- Applying and contacting agents and/or underwriting with discrepancies.
- Assisting with corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
- Answering questions from agents regarding balances & working with them on getting issues resolved.
- Cross-trained accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations, illness, or any other absence.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with MS Office
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
