About the Role

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a team member to process member purchases, verify and offer membership products, scan merchandise, and accept payments. This role provides excellent member service efficiently and maintains the cleanliness of the front-line department.

• Exhibit clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, including renewals and upgrading to BJ’s Loyalty programs.
• Offer all appropriate membership products such as membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and Rewards redemption.
• Check Members out in a timely and efficient manner.
• Scan all club merchandise through a point-of-sale system for accurate inventory counts and purchase totals.
• Fill shopping carts when necessary and assist at self-checkout stations.
• Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments.
• Issue receipts or change due to Members.
• Stay up to date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
• Discount purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Assist in general club housekeeping when necessary.
• Return re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor area.
• Manage self-checkout and scan and pan lanes.
• Assist Members with operations and technical difficulties.
• Meet cashier productivity expectations.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, is recognized and valued.
• Application should reflect authentic skills, experiences, and insights.
