About the Role

As Head of Department, Science, you'll lead a team of teachers delivering A-level Sciences to students globally. You will set academic standards, develop your team, oversee curriculum and assessment, and ensure an excellent student experience across various learning modes. You will report to the Principal and teach 12 periods per week, with 10 release periods allocated for leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Science department, including managing meetings, learning walks, lesson observations, and professional development.
• Coach and support teachers across all learning modes, including new Da Vinci (1:1) teachers.
• Ensure curriculum quality and alignment with A-level specifications.
• Oversee internal and external examinations, moderation, and post-exam analysis.
• Monitor student progress and implement interventions as necessary.
• Promote strong digital pedagogy within the team.
• Teach Science classes, demonstrating effective teaching practices.

Requirements

• Qualified Science teacher (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) with significant A-level experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or middle-leadership experience in an academic environment.
• Proficiency with digital learning platforms and online teaching methodologies.
• Skilled in coaching and developing teachers to improve student outcomes.
• Data-literate, organized, and capable of managing both leadership and teaching duties.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
