About the Role

The Senior Advisor for Affordability is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the development of clinical strategies across the Cigna Healthcare organization, partnering with analytics, clinical, product, trend, communications, and medical management teams. This role requires a strategist with deep healthcare expertise, capable of influencing executive decision-making, launching complex cross-functional initiatives, and delivering actionable plans to drive affordability.

Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic advisor to Cigna Healthcare affordability and business leaders, translating enterprise priorities into actionable strategies and initiatives.
Partner across clinical, provider contracting, ancillary, operations, product, analytics, and communications teams to drive alignment and execution of affordability objectives.
Apply strategic thinking, financial acumen, and data-driven analysis to inform investment decisions, affordability opportunities, and resource allocation.
Synthesize internal and external insights into clear recommendations that shape affordability strategy, priorities, and business outcomes.
Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and communications that clearly convey affordability initiatives, performance, and strategic priorities.
Identify and implement innovative solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities, to improve processes, accelerate insights, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
Lead change management and continuous improvement efforts, engaging stakeholders to successfully implement and sustain strategic initiatives.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and healthcare policy developments, translating insights into recommendations that inform enterprise decision-making and position affordability as a strategic growth driver.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
6+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, management consulting, payer/provider organizations, or related healthcare settings.
Demonstrated expertise in healthcare strategy, provider engagement, affordability, or healthcare innovation.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and business case development skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable recommendations for executive audiences.
Proven ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders within a matrixed organization.
