About the Role

Symbiotic is building the infrastructure for collateral markets, enabling capital to secure financial obligations, remain productive, and be enforced by code. We are enabling new categories of neofinance applications by changing the economics of onchain collateral. As institutional capital moves onchain, Symbiotic is positioned to become the coordination layer connecting capital and risk across the onchain economy.

Responsibilities

Lead the product design function, collaborating closely with Leadership, Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams.
Design the full user journey for Symbiotic's product stack, making onchain complexity legible and optimizing for clean user flows.
Surface risk, exposure, and returns so users understand their commitments and the impact of changing conditions.
Conduct user research, interviewing users and observing their behavior to inform concrete feature scopes for engineering.
Partner closely with Engineering to define problems, weigh tradeoffs, and design within protocol constraints.

Requirements

Deep on-chain fluency, including wallets, approvals, signing, gas, transaction lifecycle, and chain latency, with a working understanding of their design constraints.
Shipped a DeFi product to real users.
A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product work, showcasing systems-level thinking and attention to detail.
Proven ability to operate autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with limited oversight.
Comfortable working without established scaffolding, such as a dedicated design team, an existing design system, or a queue of work.
Proactive in conducting user research.
Excellent cross-functional communication skills, enabling close partnership with Engineering and the ability to defend positions under scrutiny.
Deep fluency in Figma and modern prototyping workflows.
