About the Role

Join the American Red Cross, the world's largest humanitarian network, and be part of a mission that touches millions of lives. This role offers paid training, making prior medical experience unnecessary, though phlebotomy experience is preferred. You will utilize healthcare and customer service skills to support the blood collection process at fixed site locations, ensuring a welcoming environment for donors and adhering to safety procedures for collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Responsibilities

Connect personally with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation.
Collaborate with teammates to foster a welcoming and friendly environment for volunteer donors.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and is safe for transfusion.

Requirements

Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience.
Minimum of one year customer service experience in a public setting.
A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
Good manual dexterity.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
