About the Role

This senior leadership role manages Data Center cost engagements for existing clients and drives new business with capital planning clients and dedicated accounts. The role is national, focusing across mainland United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform leadership responsibilities, communication, and relationship management.
  • Contribute to identifying and attracting top talent.
  • Manage and strategize one or more programs and/or complex projects and their operations.
  • Mentor, develop, and oversee team members and/or direct reports, serving as Team Lead.
  • Serve as Team Lead for capital planning and dedicated accounts, ensuring successful implementation and innovation.
  • Accountable for client service on projects and those of their team, navigating complex conversations.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships, managing fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of P&L team strategy, aligning with business strategy.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of best practices to enhance Firm capabilities.
  • Attend and/or be a member of local and regional industry conferences.
  • Source new and cultivate existing client and business relationships, leading or supporting pursuit strategies.
  • Possess advanced SME level knowledge on industry-specific requirements and their impact on design and construction.
  • Obtain and maintain industry-recognized credentials and/or certifications.
  • Represent JLL in industry-specific events, conferences, and media as a content contributor.
  • Effectively manage client and on-account teams’ expectations, instilling confidence through clear communication.
  • Communicate to and engage with PDS leads, knowing when to engage or escalate.
  • Stay informed on changes to PDS processes, systems, and reporting, contributing to strategic client initiatives.
  • Adhere to revenue generation requirements of the PDS business.
  • Travel approximately 25%, which may fluctuate.
  • Coordinate with global capital planning teams.
  • Lead the capital planning team, actively engaging with key clients and complex projects.
  • Drive new business in dedicated accounts, with regional team leads handling solutioning.
  • Partner with team members to execute complex projects through all stages.
  • Present to key stakeholders across the project team.
  • Understand and relay local market pricing for material, labor, and equipment.
  • Accountability for client servicing.
  • Drive capital planning technology and accountability for implementation.
  • Identify and analyze potential risks impacting project deliverables, timelines, or budgets.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and monitor their implementation.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to gather data and provide accurate project status updates.
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement lessons learned and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to project controls.
  • Apply subject matter expertise to support the global community of practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Aggregates and translates outputs into marketable deliverables.
  • Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within project cost management.
  • Demonstrated competence in performing structured work assignments.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
  • Ability to receive instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior-level roles.
  • 10+ years as an Estimator, Cost Manager, Capital Planner or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Cost-X, On-Screen Takeoff or other estimating software.
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., AACE, RICS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with procurement and tendering processes.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
