About the Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will help shape a child’s first experiences of learning, friendship, and play. You will be part of a team that brings joy and support to children and their families, creating safe and engaging spaces where every child can flourish.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape a child’s first experiences of learning, friendship, and play.
  • Create safe and engaging spaces where every child is seen, supported, and given the chance to flourish.
  • Work with children aged 0-5 in a community nursery.
  • Support the team in planning fun, engaging activities that help children learn through play, indoors and outside.
  • Be hands-on throughout the day, including changing nappies, preparing snacks, encouraging independence, and celebrating milestones.
  • Act as a key person for a small group of children, understanding their needs and those of their families.
  • Ensure every child, including those with additional needs, feels welcome, understood, and able to participate.
  • Adapt to the demands of a fast-paced, sometimes noisy and messy role, always focused on helping children feel secure, curious, and cared for.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 2 Childcare Qualification recognised by the Department for Education.
  • Ideally, some experience working in an early years setting.
  • Warmth, patience, and energy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Openness to learning and adaptability.
  • Confidence in building relationships with parents and carers.
  • Good understanding of child development, especially for two-year-olds and vulnerable groups.
  • Familiarity with the EYFS and safeguarding guidance.
  • An Enhanced DBS check and children's barred list.
  • First Aid training or willingness to complete it.

Salary/Compensations

  • New hires will start at the minimum of the advertised salary range.
  • Employees receive annual salary increases until they reach the top of the pay scale.
