About the Role
As Sales Manager for UK Metals Expo, you will drive revenue growth by selling exhibition space, sponsorship packages, and digital opportunities to organizations within the metals ecosystem. You will combine new business development with account management to foster long-term relationships and ensure the event's continued success.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver a personal revenue target for stand space, sponsorship, and digital media.
- Proactively generate new business through outbound calling, email, social selling, and video meetings.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing exhibitors and sponsors, focusing on renewal, upsell, and multi-year agreements.
- Sell exhibition stands, sponsorship packages, and year-round digital and lead-generation products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across the metals industry.
- Meet exhibitors and prospects face-to-face to present proposals and close deals.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline in the CRM, including activity logging, forecasting, and reporting.
- Hit agreed daily activity KPIs when in the office.
- Collaborate with the Event Director and marketing team to identify target segments, shape campaigns, and contribute ideas for new features.
- Collaborate with operations and customer success to ensure a smooth customer journey.
- Stay informed about market developments in the metals and industrial sectors to identify new revenue opportunities.
- Represent Easyfairs professionally at industry events and meetings, acting as a brand ambassador.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ B2B sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience in event/exhibition sales or selling to industrial/manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience in new business development (outbound calling, prospecting, pipeline building).
- Experience in account management, including renewals and upselling.
- Confident and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to engage senior decision-makers.
- Comfortable selling via phone, video calls, email, and in person.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a consultative, needs-based approach.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK for client meetings and to attend industry events.
- Experience working with or selling into the metals, engineering, manufacturing, construction, or broader industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of key themes in the metals industry such as sustainability, circular economy, net zero, supply chain resilience, productivity, and automation.
- Familiarity with working to structured activity KPIs and comfortable in a performance-driven environment.
- Experience using a CRM system for pipeline management and reporting.
- Ability to interpret basic market data to identify new opportunities.
