About the Role
Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support individuals in residential care communities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of treatment plans for individuals in residential care communities.
- Perform treatments as prescribed by the supervising Physiotherapist, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
- Deliver dynamic, safe, and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents.
- Set up, prepare, and clean up equipment after resident treatments.
- Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
- Maintain regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding resident status or treatment concerns.
- Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system.
Requirements
- PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology, or a similar healthcare background.
- Previous experience within an LTC setting is an asset.
- A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months).
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.
