About the Role
The Benefits and HRIS Coordinator provides administrative support for employee group insurance plans, maintains accurate employee data in Dayforce, supports payroll preparation, and responds to employee inquiries. The role also provides basic system support and reporting assistance to ensure efficient HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Processing employee lifecycle changes, such as hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations, in both the benefits and HRIS systems to ensure timely and accurate transactions
- Conducting monthly benefits audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity
- Liaising with benefits providers on routine administrative matters
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage, claims, eligibility, and policies
- Supporting benefits programs enhancements and vendor transitions
- Maintaining and updating HRIS records in compliance with legal, organizational, privacy, and confidentiality standards
- Ensuring data integrity through regular audits of HRIS records
- Preparing standard and ad hoc HR reports
- Serving as the first point of contact for benefits and HRIS-related questions and basic troubleshooting
- Providing guidance to employees on the use of HRIS self-service tools
- Identifying opportunities to improve team’s processes through automation and system enhancements
Requirements
- Knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA)
- Understanding of employee benefits programs and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with reporting tools
- Experience with Dayforce or other HRIS platforms
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required
- Must submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources
