About the Role

The eDiscovery Analyst supports litigation and dispute-resolution files, investigations, and regulatory responses by managing electronically stored information (“ESI”) through hands-on execution of technical processes across the eDiscovery lifecycle. This role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and occasionally clients and external vendors to translate legal and factual requirements into defensible, efficient and technically-sound electronic discovery workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ESI across all stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis, and production.
  • Support ESI collection, including custodian and data source identification, maintaining chain of custody, and facilitating retrieval from sources such as Microsoft 365, Google, social media, and collaboration tools.
  • Process ESI, including data loading, culling, applying keyword and metadata filters, and deduplication.
  • Execute and validate analytics workflows, including email threading, near-duplicate detection, concept clustering, categorization, structured analytics, and review optimization tools.
  • Support advanced document review workflows in Relativity, including searching, analytics, and coding.
  • Generate and perform quality control checks on production sets to ensure alignment with Discovery Plans.
  • Apply controls to protect privilege, confidentiality, data privacy, and sensitive information, minimizing risk of inadvertent disclosure.
  • Administer Relativity workspaces, including permissions, fields, views, layouts, searches, indexes, review batches, and coding panels.
  • Maintain quality, documentation, and defensibility by conducting quality checks during data processing and loading, validating search results and analytics outputs, and reviewing deliverables.
  • Support internal review teams by providing Relativity training, workflow guidance, and troubleshooting, as required.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of Relativity and other eDiscovery tools and platforms to support evolving practice needs.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager to review current practices, develop best practices, and recommend improvements to existing tools, policies, procedures, and technology.
  • Participate in projects, including tracking progress, managing scope changes, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Provide guidance across the EDRM lifecycle, including project scoping, workflow design, software selection, and defensible methodologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, assess, develop, and implement quality control protocols to ensure data integrity, recommending enhancements as appropriate.
  • Assist in evaluating, testing, and implementing new AI-driven features or tools within eDiscovery platforms, in partnership with the Senior Manager and vendors.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent practical experience to successfully complete the essential requirements of the role.
  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting digital evidence management or eDiscovery for a law firm or external service provider.
  • Superior knowledge of Relativity, including processing & ingestion, analytics, productions and workspace maintenance.
  • Familiarity with RelativityOne, and experience using analytics and machine-learning strategies (TAR/CAL) for document review.
  • Familiarity with other commonly used ESI processing and review platforms (e.g. Reveal, Everlaw, Consilio).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office product suite.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g. Chat GPT, Gemini, Claude).
  • Excellent client service orientation combined with the ability to manage multiple client needs at the same time.
  • Strong knowledge of the eDiscovery process throughout the EDRM lifecycle.
  • Advanced technical skills with an ability to understand, grasp, and adapt to new technology to support litigation efforts.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong relationship, collaboration and consultation skills; able to work with diverse stakeholders and navigate effectively within the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; efficient and organized.
  • Flexible and self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership for quality of work.
  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively and deliver in pragmatic ways.
