About the Role

As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for diagnosis.
  • Interpret scanning instructions.
  • Administer contrast materials.
  • Prepare and operate CT equipment.
  • Position patients for imaging.
  • Acquire patient chart data/requisition and review for correct room set-up, medical problems, and contraindications.
  • Verify that the study ordered correlates to diagnostic needs.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including technical and clerical components, for quality assurance and documentation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing.
  • Certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Knowledge of cross-section anatomy and related pathologic processes.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must comply with the influenza prevention program, including annual influenza vaccination or approved exemption.
  • Must pass a controlled substances test.
