About the Role

As an Instrumentation and Controls Project Engineer in our San Francisco office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all. You will work on cutting edge designs for projects ranging from central utility plants for large campuses and healthcare facilities, advanced manufacturing and cleanroom facilities, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and development facilities, large scale data centers for advancing scientific discovery, microgrids, renewable energy and energy storage assets, and smart building and campus technology and sensor integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design central utility plants for large campuses and healthcare facilities.
  • Design advanced manufacturing and cleanroom facilities.
  • Design biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and development facilities.
  • Design large scale data centers for advancing scientific discovery.
  • Design microgrids, renewable energy and energy storage assets.
  • Design smart building and campus technology and sensor integration.
  • Communicate with clients, partners and individuals at all levels within an organization.
  • Travel for client meetings, field survey, commissioning, and startup support.

Requirements

  • BSME or BSEE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in the consulting engineering industry with a focus on controls system design and integration.
  • Experience in consulting engineering in utility plant design.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in one or more states.
  • Detailed, hands-on knowledge of PLC or DCS control systems.
  • Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols.
  • Interest in smart building technologies, universal system integration and convergence of data and intelligence.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and within team environments.
