About the Role

As an R1 Financial Counseling Representative, you will counsel uninsured and under-insured patients to secure a paying funding source for their medical services. You will accurately and compassionately explain financial options and obligations during patient counseling sessions. This role requires excellent customer service, a commitment to assisting patients, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Counsel uninsured and under-insured patients to obtain a paying funding source for their medical services.
• Accurately and compassionately explain financial options and obligations during financial counseling sessions.
• Communicate complex coverage enrollment information with patients.
• Assist patients with applications effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service skills
• Compassionate communication
• Ability to remain mobile throughout the day
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to navigate multiple systems
• Ability to communicate with compassion and authenticity
• Thorough understanding of Medicaid and other funding programs
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to pass a background check
