About the Role
The Gym Group is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their Health and Safety Team, covering gyms within the M25 area. This role involves providing expert health and safety advice to support site operations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Regional, Cluster, and Gym Managers to provide practical, expert health and safety advice.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, tracking actions to completion.
- Lead investigations into serious accidents, incidents, and near misses, driving root cause analysis.
- Manage and develop the Health and Safety Heroes programme, including training and support.
- Deliver health and safety training, workshops, and awareness sessions.
- Support enforcing authority visits and manage formal notices.
- Contribute to ISO 45001 and FITcert accreditation audits.
- Lead on a technical specialism such as CDM, Building Safety, or fire safety.
- Produce regional performance updates and analyze trends.
- Support the preparation of the monthly Safe and Legal Report.
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or recognised equivalent) is a firm requirement.
- Solid experience in a health and safety role across a multi-site operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
- Practical experience of CDM and Building Safety requirements.
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and manage audit action plans.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across an assigned regional patch.
