About the Role

The incumbent delivers in-person and remote case management, employment counselling, and job development activities to prepare unemployed or underemployed clients for employment opportunities. The role focuses on advocating for clients, resolving barriers to success, and supporting job search preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform case management including assessment, goal setting, action plan development, intervention, and follow-up
  • Locate and contact potential employers to find job opportunities for clients
  • Collaborate with training facilitators to support client participation and address barriers
  • Administer and interpret skills-based, occupational, and educational assessment tests
  • Facilitate information sessions and workshops
  • Support clients in using online platforms for job exploration
  • Conduct outreach activities via in-person, online, social media, and phone channels
  • Perform program intake activities
  • Provide referrals for housing, medical, child care, and emotional wellness support
  • Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention
  • Maintain detailed client notes and manage data in online records
  • Liaise with community agencies and attend meetings
  • Provide interdisciplinary support in collaboration with other staff
  • Ensure anti-racism objectives and community development principles are achieved

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Social Services or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in employment services, counselling, case management, or job development
  • Lived experience in multiple occupations and work settings
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and job seekers with multiple barriers
  • Track record of successfully placing clients in employment
