About the Role
Henry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping & Maintenance Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves performing custodial tasks, supporting infection control, and assisting with light facility maintenance to ensure the hospital remains organized and functional.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain facility sanitation
- Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, and equipment using appropriate germicides
- Move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, and clean kitchens and utensils
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- Launder soiled linens as directed
- Maintain and restock adequate cleaning supplies
- Clean and store equipment properly after each shift
- Prepare rooms for meetings and facility functions
- Follow all infection control measures
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks, lift, and carry supplies
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and customer service
- Valid state driver's license where required
- CPR certification (training available upon hire)
- De-escalation and restraint certification (training available upon hire)
- First aid certification may be required
