About the Role

The Village of Humber Heights in Etobicoke, Ontario is seeking a LTC Maintenance Worker to join their team. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the facility while providing a caring and respectful environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Work at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Handle residents' personal items with care and respect.
  • Communicate mechanical problems and solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Lift 15-25 lbs.
  • Deal with fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage time effectively and collaborate with a team.
  • Support and embrace a resident-centred social culture.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
  • Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
  • Ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with a team.
