About the Role
The Village of Humber Heights in Etobicoke, Ontario is seeking a LTC Maintenance Worker to join their team. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the facility while providing a caring and respectful environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Work at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Handle residents' personal items with care and respect.
- Communicate mechanical problems and solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
- Lift 15-25 lbs.
- Deal with fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage time effectively and collaborate with a team.
- Support and embrace a resident-centred social culture.
Requirements
- Comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
- Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
- General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
- Ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to work in collaboration with a team.
