About the Role
Act as a technical liaison with customers, suppliers, and Prestolite's sales and warranty teams. Provide engineering expertise to multinational OE customers, supporting the integration of Prestolite Electric components into current and future applications. Provide application engineering support for mining customers globally, serving as the single point of contact for major clients in the American and Australasian markets.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering expertise to multinational OE customers, supporting the integration of Prestolite Electric components into current and future applications.
- Provide application engineering support for mining customers globally, serving as the single point of contact for major clients in the American and Australasian markets.
- Support multinational OE customers with the integration of Prestolite Electric components, conducting diagnostic and application engineering services to ensure optimal product performance.
- Lead the design, development, and field trials of new products, ensuring successful market introduction and validation.
- Develop and deliver training programs, including creating instructional materials, technical articles, and conducting training sessions for OE, OES, Mining, Marine, and warehouse distributors, enhancing customer knowledge and reducing warranty claims.
- Perform diagnostic and application engineering services, including electrical load studies, volt drop testing, crank trace studies, parasitic load studies, visual inspections, and data acquisition.
- Conduct field trials to validate new products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and perform reliably in real-world conditions.
- Conduct investigations and evaluated faulty components returned for warranty, performing root cause analysis and providing detailed reports of findings.
- Develop and implement service strategies to enhance component lifespans and reduce total cost of ownership for Prestolite products, improving repairability and maintenance.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years in the position above, as a Technical Sales Representative, or in a related automotive manufacturing, technical support role.
- Five (5) years with Robotics and electrical application engineering and manufacturing within the commercial vehicle, automotive, defense, or similar industry.
- Five (5) years with OE customer requirements analysis and relationship management.
- Five (5) years with developing training programs for suppliers and customers, including creating instructional materials and conducting technical training sessions.
- Five (5) years with product design and development, including managing the introduction of new products for global customers.
- Will accept equivalent foreign degree.
- Will accept no degree and fifteen (15) years of experience.
- Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
