About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the B2B organization, you will lead the design and delivery of critical platform capabilities that power Docusign's Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) vision for enterprise customers. You will design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable, highly available backend services and APIs that are core to our B2B products, partnering closely with product, architecture, and peer engineering teams. The Ingestion and Telemetry team designs and develops product features targeting CLM and IAM products, builds services, infrastructure, and libraries for standardized telemetry and monitoring, and evolves ingestion flows for agreements and attributes.
Responsibilities
- Lead feature and platform delivery across the full software development lifecycle: author and drive designs, implementation, testing strategy, deployment, and operational support for backend services, APIs, and telemetry pipelines.
- Design and implement services and APIs using C# or TypeScript/Node.js, following best practices for modularity, testability, and maintainability.
- Architect and evolve cloud-native, microservices-based systems leveraging Azure services, containers, and modern deployment practices.
- Define and drive telemetry standards for B2B Platform: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and runbooks.
- Ensure CLM and IAM services produce high-quality, consistent telemetry that can be used for incident response, capacity planning, SLO management, and product analytics.
- Own key ingestion and synchronization flows between CLM and IAM to support unified agreement views, obligation management, and Navigator/Agreement Manager scenarios.
- Lead and participate in high-severity incident response and post-mortems for your domain, using telemetry data and root cause analysis to drive long-term reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
- Partner with product management, architecture, SRE, CLM feature teams, IAM platform teams, and data/analytics partners to refine requirements, align designs, and unblock cross-team initiatives.
- Drive code reviews, engineering best practices, and platformization patterns; help define and evolve standards for logging, metrics, traces, and ingestion pipelines across B2B Platform.
- Mentor and coach P3 and early-career engineers, amplifying team impact and helping others grow in telemetry, distributed systems, and platform thinking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production services or applications using OO languages such as C#, Java, or TypeScript/Node.js, including ownership of complex backend systems in cloud environments.
- 4+ years designing, building, and operating cloud-native microservices or APIs at scale (REST or gRPC), including version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL data stores and data modeling for production services, including data models that support telemetry and ingestion scenarios.
- Experience owning platform features end-to-end: design docs, implementation, test plans, rollout strategies, and operational support for services used by multiple teams or products.
- Experience with fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and troubleshooting in production environments, with hands-on experience diagnosing issues using logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards.
- Experience working effectively in cross-functional and cross-team settings, including driving alignment across CLM, IAM, and B2B Platform stakeholders.
- Experience participating in on-call rotations for critical services, including incident response and follow-up remediation work.
- Experience with Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, ASP.NET) in large-scale SaaS environments and familiarity with Azure services such as AKS, App Services, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, or equivalent AWS/GCP technologies.
- Hands-on experience building or evolving observability and telemetry stacks for distributed systems; familiarity with big data/stream processing for telemetry and ingestion.
- Prior work on shared platform components adopted by multiple teams, with a track record of driving adoption and simplifying integration for partner teams.
- Experience participating in or leading RCAs and on-call activities for high-severity incidents, with a focus on prevention, resilience, and continuous improvement of SLOs and error budgets.
- Experience working in an agile environment and delivering software iteratively with frequent, high-quality releases, especially for platform and infrastructure capabilities.
