About the Role

Responsible for the administration of the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program to ensure the station is meeting all state, federal, and company regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including associated inspections and authorizations for shipment.
  • Ensure completion of all required paperwork associated with the receipt/shipment of radioactive materials including proper maintenance and retention of records.
  • Perform Curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis.
  • Ensures that the appropriate computer programs for radioactive material shipments are maintained.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes regarding radioactive shipping regulations and guidelines and incorporate changes into existing station procedures.
  • Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences.
  • Perform other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 3 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience
  • Associate's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 5 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
  • High school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

  • $117,900 to $131,000
