About the Role
We are seeking an Azure Specialist to focus on the public sector, specifically educational and research institutions across Japan. As a senior sales member specializing in Azure, you will collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand industry needs, propose Azure-based infrastructure, data, and AI solutions, and drive large-scale projects. You will also contribute to designing cloud adoption strategies and advise on AI strategies for executive leadership. This role is crucial for driving digital transformation in Japan's education and research sectors during a period of significant change, including the strategic use of AI in learning, faculty environments, and scientific research.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to accelerate and close Azure opportunities by leading cross-functional virtual teams, assessing customer needs, and orchestrating stakeholders.
- Propose new Azure opportunities by understanding industry insights and challenges, building relationships with customer business decision-makers, and comprehending their business/technical priorities, governance, and budget processes.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Azure opportunities with internal stakeholders and partners to drive cross-sell and upsell.
- Lead discussions with Azure decision-makers (BDMs and ITDMs), share best practices and competitive intelligence, and support expert judgment for pursuits and exits.
- Stay updated on competitive AI solutions within Azure, contribute to team upskilling, and lead discussions with customers and partners.
- Develop account plans for the territory, conduct competitive analysis and business analysis, identify high-potential customers, and manage Azure solutions across the organization.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in technology sales to public sector, education, or research institutions, or 5 years of solution sales experience.
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency.
