About the Role
The AI, Assistance and Automation Platforms team within Microsoft Digital is looking for a Principal Product Manager to shape AI-powered assistance and automation experiences for Microsoft employees. This role involves understanding user needs, defining product vision and roadmaps, and collaborating across teams to deliver impactful capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered assistance and automation experiences.
- Lead AI-first solution innovation by identifying opportunities for generative AI, intelligent assistants, predictive recommendations, automation, and agentic experiences.
- Gather user insights through research, feedback, usage data, and direct engagement.
- Translate customer needs into meaningful product capabilities, requirements, and a well-sequenced roadmap.
- Partner across M365 and Power platform teams to align on shared experiences and dependencies.
- Partner with engineering, design, research, and business executives to deliver end-to-end product experiences.
- Work with engineering and service engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable capabilities.
- Communicate direction, progress, and results to partners and leadership.
- Mentor peers and raise the craft of product management across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market.
- 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience.
- 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience.
- Tenured experience in product management, program management, engineering, or a related discipline, with a record of leading complex product portfolios or platforms.
- Demonstrated success defining vision, shaping strategy, and delivering products or platforms that drive measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Knowledge of current product management practices, including product discovery, experimentation, customer research, prioritization frameworks, product analytics, and outcome-based road-mapping.
- Experience with AI-powered, assistance, or automation experiences.
- Effective communication and cross-team leadership in a large, matrixed organization.

- USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)
