About the Role

The Max Planck Institute for Educational Research is a research institute in Berlin with approximately 350 employees from around the world. We conduct multidisciplinary research on the conditions and processes of human development and education. Responsibilities

  • Administrative coordination of research projects
  • Travel and appointment planning
  • Support for scientific guests
  • Independent handling of internal and external correspondence in German and English
  • Central point of contact for the research area and interface to administration, service units, and external partners
  • Support with administrative processes (e.g., procurement, billing, personnel and project documents)
  • Secure and discreet handling of confidential information

Requirements

  • Completed commercial or administrative training (e.g., Clerk for Office Management, Administrative Assistant, or similar)
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in a secretarial or assistant role
  • Very good knowledge of MS 365 (especially Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Experience in a scientific environment (university, research institute, third-party funding or project context) is advantageous
  • Experience in supporting executives or committees is advantageous
  • Good understanding of university or science-related administrative structures is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational skills
