About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Scheduler to support multiple project schedules in Primavera P6. Construction experience in biotech or pharmaceutical capital projects is essential. This is a hybrid assignment in the San Francisco/Bay Area. We are developing, managing, and optimizing schedules for a portfolio of projects, including civil, structural, mechanical, process piping, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, automation systems, commissioning & validation, regulatory, and product commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop baseline schedules with a quality critical path.
  • Ensure schedules are developed in compliance with corporate and department requirements.
  • Resource-load project schedules and optimize resource utilization.
  • Perform schedule updates, variance analysis to baseline, and lookahead schedules.
  • Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing alternate methods for corrective action.
  • Maintain a record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
  • Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
  • Analyze and process project change orders for schedule impacts.
  • Produce detailed critical path network schedules for projects within a standard work breakdown structure.
  • Analyze schedules submitted in various software packages, but primarily Primavera P6.
  • Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
  • Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
  • Analyze schedules from A/E firms and general contractors.
  • Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths.
  • Evaluate activity sequences for constructability.
  • Make recommendations to manage float and (re)-sequence activities (if required) to achieve project milestone dates and interim target completion dates.
  • Work with conceptual estimating department in supporting funding requests with conceptual schedules.
  • Manage and directly support the schedule update process.
  • Perform what-if schedule scenarios, advanced schedule analysis, and variance analysis reports.
  • Summarize schedule status in a narrative and create status reports and presentations for management.
  • Perform as the schedule lead and facilitate schedule meetings.
  • Facilitate project scheduling meetings and/or interactive planning meetings as required by the project team.
  • Produce schedule reports and analysis.
  • Support development of schedule-related processes, procedures, and training.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis.
  • Use risk analysis to anticipate conflicts between trades and define levels of uncertainty.

Requirements

  • Multiple large-scale complex project experiences, $500MM+, with some cGMP biotech or pharmaceutical capital project experience.
  • Greenfield and large capital project experience required (from design through commissioning).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera P6.
  • Advanced knowledge in the construction of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with field planning and progressing.
  • Construction claims experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities: written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate a team spirit and strong dedication to success of the team.
  • Frequent field visits required during construction.
