About the Role
Join a top-performing Canadian asset manager within the Institutional Portfolio Operations team. This role is critical to the investment success of diverse institutional clients, offering exposure to the asset management industry and opportunities for professional growth within Connor, Clark & Lunn.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile cash, transactions, holdings, futures, derivatives, dividends, soft dollars, units, and alternative investments.
- Investigate reconciliation breaks related to shareholder activities, income, corporate actions, failed trades, or derivatives.
- Communicate with custodians, prime brokers, and portfolio managers to resolve discrepancies and manage data delivery.
- Oversee the flow of sensitive portfolio information across affiliates.
- Assist auditors by providing accurate and timely data for institutional client account audits.
- Participate in continuous improvement, automation, and scalability of business processes.
- Support testing and implementation of new products, services, and processes.
- Complete month-end reconciliations to ensure timely resolution of account imbalances.
- Analyze complex issues, determine next steps, and escalate as necessary.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in investment operations and reconciliation.
- Prior experience in an institutional investment firm, bank, or trust company.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities in situations with incomplete information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
