About the Role
Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesia providers and perioperative teams in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring operating rooms are fully equipped and ready for procedures. This role is essential in supporting surgical services and creating a seamless experience for both patients and clinical teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia machines, monitoring devices, and related equipment.
- Assist anesthesia providers before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Set up invasive monitoring lines and specialty anesthesia equipment as directed.
- Perform equipment checks, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
- Stock, organize, and manage anesthesia supplies and medications in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure operating rooms are prepared and equipped for scheduled procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and process anesthesia equipment according to infection prevention standards.
- Respond promptly to urgent and emergent needs within procedural areas.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in a clinical care role.
- Experience preferred in one of the following areas: Recovery Room, ICU, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Med/Surg, or Pharmacy.
- BLS required.
