About the Role

Responsibilities

• Unload case goods, bedding and/or upholstered furniture using a two-wheel hand cart and second person assistance when needed.
• Stage and load/unload products for shipping or storage in the warehouse.
• Palletize product and box product when necessary.
• Operate mobile lift equipment to bin product and place incoming product into warehouse racks.
• Retrieve product from aisle racks based on assigned load sheet, after clearance by scanner, and load trailer.
• Pick-up breakage, miscellaneous wood, plastic and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Check for damaged product and do not load any damaged product for shipment to customer.
• Interact and respond professionally to co-workers requests.
• Meet established product rates and accuracy standards.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work well with others and function in a team environment.
• Safely operate all required equipment.
• Must be able to move extremities and the spine through a functional range of motion allowing safe maneuvering of product from floor to overhead while material handling.
• Ability to work in awkward postures is occasionally required.
• Must have sufficient strength in the trunk and extremities to perform tasks in multiple positions from the floor to overhead while material handling.
• Must be able to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while material handling.
• Must be able to seize, hold and grasp items typical of this job throughout the work period.
• Must be able to pinch and work primarily with the fingers throughout the workday.
• Must demonstrate sufficient capacity to lift, carry and push-pull.
• Must possess excellent balance to maintain equilibrium in all positions.
• The Distribution Warehouse Associate meets the minimal physical demands consistent with a classification of Very-HEAVY.
• Associate is exposed to slip and trip hazards, wet weather, and cold/hot temperatures.
• Warehouse temperature is mechanically heated, not cooled.
• Worker is exposed to cold as they are required to work in and out of unheated trailers.
• Steel toe shoes and fall protection harness are required.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
