About the Role

Zynga is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Designer to contribute creative input and lead content and system design for a new mobile game.

Responsibilities

• Create or adapt game features and large-scale systems for game integration.
• Write user experience stories and design documentation for new features and systems.
• Own, drive, and collaborate with other disciplines for system development.
• Design and prototype new gameplay and systems in close collaboration with other disciplines.
• Create flexible sheets and models for balancing complex systems.
• Design and balance content for new systems.
• Create and improve tools to enhance the design pipeline efficiency.
• Act as an advocate for good design practices across the studio.
• Pitch new ideas and lead brainstorming sessions.
• Analyze real-time feedback and metrics to adjust game designs and maintain live game balance.
• Stay current with Game Design literature and methodologies to evangelize the craft.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Expertise in math, levels, and formulas within a game environment.
• Extensive knowledge of games and strategies.
• Solid understanding of game balancing and pacing.
• Ability to translate consumer insights, market data, and analysis into creative design solutions.
• Passionate gamer.
• Shipped at least 2 games.
