About the Role

Mercury is building the financial stack for ambitious individuals and companies, backed by elegant and intelligent software. The Dashboard is the central hub, connecting users to essential features and providing a seamless experience. The product team's goal is to keep the increasingly powerful product legible and intuitive, ensuring customers feel their ambition is inevitable.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of an underdefined, high-stakes surface and develop a clear point of view, starting with Tasks, Home, and Notifications.
  • Lead a redesign of the Mercury home page, defining its content and purpose as the product evolves.
  • Design the unified logic for tasks, lifecycle updates, and in-product alerts.
  • Partner closely with Command, agents, and product teams that will rely on these surfaces to drive intent.
  • Set direction and a prioritized roadmap, balancing user needs with the requirements of dependent product teams.
  • Collaborate with design to shape the visual and interaction language of core surfaces.
  • Operate independently in ambiguous situations, contributing to the vision, sequencing, and execution of a multi-phase overhaul of horizontal Dashboard experiences.
  • Regularly present strategy and tradeoffs to company leadership.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights for the team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant product management experience, preferably on horizontal product or platform teams accountable for a quality user experience.
  • Deep design taste and belief that aesthetics are functional.
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguity into a clear point of view independently.
  • Fluency in working with designers as a peer.
  • Ability to take complex problems end-to-end (research, design, engineering, GTM, stakeholder management) autonomously.

  • Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.
