About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Settlement Specialist to join the International Securities Settlement Team. This role involves overseeing fixed income prematching and ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of international fixed income and equity trading activities across all WF entities on the settlement date, utilizing major international settlement platforms including Clearstream Banking and Euroclear. The team works closely with global custodians and key business partners to manage exception-driven events such as fail management, reconciliations, buy-ins, repo settlements, and corporate actions. Responsibilities

  • Monitor settlement status, perform asset segregation, depo realignment, and input wires.
  • Reconcile global cash and security movements and daily balancing with Global Custodians, including Clearstream and Euroclear, and CSDR fees.
  • Support Clearstream Triparty initiative and repo financing projects.
  • Investigate daily breaks reasons and report to the CASS team.
  • Participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks, especially upcoming market change UK & EU T+1.
  • Raise ideas for process improvements within Securities Operations and work on operational efficiency using existing automation tools.
  • Resolve daily BAU issues within a trade environment, leveraging basic understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; escalate issues to management timely.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues, minimize operational and control risk, and achieve goals.
  • Resolve moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security Operations.
  • Support new or revised processes and procedures requiring coordination among operation teams.
  • Perform analysis for initiatives supporting business strategies, making decisions on matters with financial impact and risk.
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in Institutional Investment Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Basic understanding of securities operations, settlement processes, and global market infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of international CSDs, including Clearstream and Euroclear, and their settlement and triparty services.
  • Understanding of Broadridge Systems GLOSS, IMPACT, and BPS.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, with expert-level Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment.
  • Customer service focus with a good mindset to capture business needs and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective organization, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Understand or experience in Tableau, Power IB, and Xceptor.
  • Ability to work additional hours and UK Bank Holidays as needed.
