About the Role

The School of Jazz & Contemporary Music at The New School is seeking qualified candidates for Part-Time Faculty positions. This role involves teaching graduate and/or undergraduate students, developing course materials, and assessing student progress within a defined field of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching graduate and/or undergraduate students within a defined field of expertise
  • Developing and managing course syllabi, ensuring they meet Program and School standards
  • Planning and creating lectures, discussions, and course assignments
  • Assessing student learning outcomes and aiding student success
  • Submitting grades in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success as a creative, teaching, and/or performing artist with significant professional accomplishments and accolades
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, preferably in a College, University, and/or Conservatory
  • Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues, fostering inclusive classroom settings
  • Proven track record with achieving learning outcomes

  • Jazz Classroom - $156.00/hour
