About the Role
The Data Scientist III provides technical leadership across the Analytics function, offering deep technical expertise and explaining complex data analysis to clients. The US FCRM Data Analytics team supports financial crime risk management through various analytical solutions, focusing on complex initiatives requiring strong technical skills, AML knowledge, and AI/ML expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership across the overall Analytics function.
- Explains complex data analysis material to clients.
- Supports financial crime risk management through ad hoc analytics, internal audit and regulatory data requests, BAU reporting, machine learning, and advanced analytical solutions.
- Develops analytics, reporting, and AI-driven solutions that support risk management, regulatory commitments, investigative teams, and strategic business initiatives.
- Works independently on activities related to analysis, design, and support of technical data management solutions.
- Manages and prioritizes multiple projects.
- Works closely with business owners to identify opportunities and serves as an ambassador for data science.
- Translates business problems to viable data science solutions.
- Uses programming languages and techniques for data extraction, preparation, and analysis.
- Visualizes insights from data to convey meaning to decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Collaborates with partners to develop scalable and sustainable data science solutions.
- Provides analytical thought leadership and stays current on data mining and data science applications.
- Solicits and offers ideas for improving business processes through insights.
- Educates the organization on approaches like hypothesis testing and statistical validation.
- Helps the organization understand the principles and math behind the scientific process.
- Translates up-to-date information into continuous improvement activities.
- Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies.
- Ensures programs, policies, and practices are well-managed and compliant.
- Participates in cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert.

Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science).
- Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher degree education and research tenure can be counted towards experience.
