About the Role

The Maintenance Technician/Electrician is responsible for maintaining the facility with a strong emphasis on electrical power and emergency power inspection and repair. This role involves preventive maintenance, system upgrades, general building maintenance, and ensuring all work is performed to code and OSHA standards. The position also includes an on-call rotation for 24/7 building coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems, controls, and components of industrial machines, tools, and production/utility equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, and repair or replace electronic-control related components on industrial equipment, tools, and other related production equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty components of machines and equipment, including seals, gaskets, motor bearings, and gear boxes.
  • Work with and repair electrical systems and components of the building up to 480 volts, including switchgear, transformers, panels, and lighting/ballast repairs.
  • Inspect, test, and perform general maintenance on generators (1600 KW and 2500 KW) with automatic transfer switches, including daily inspections, logging, fluid checks, and reporting issues.
  • Maintain, program, and monitor the Trane Energy Management System to efficiently control and monitor lighting and HVAC throughout the building.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and service on critical gear and utility systems supplying power to the building and data center.
  • Perform upgrades to electrical systems, UPS, and lighting.
  • Conduct general maintenance inside and outside of the building.
  • Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, equipment closets, and equipment.
  • Perform HVAC inspection and repair.
  • Perform lighting repairs.
  • Perform plumbing repairs as needed on all building systems, including restrooms, HVAC, and outside irrigation.
  • Conduct generator inspections.
  • Perform roof inspections and minor repairs.
  • Maintain building aesthetics.
  • Install and maintain power and data wiring for data communication systems.
  • Oversee installations and repairs by third-party contractors, ensuring work is performed within NEC guidelines.
  • Install circuits, including pipe and wire.
  • Install/relocate cameras supporting Asset Protection.
  • Support IT by installing monitors, chassis, and running Cat 5 and fiber between components.
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Certified electrician with 4-6 years of experience capable of working with AC/DC with voltages to 480V.
  • 4-6 years of commercial electrical experience.
  • Able to repetitively lift loads in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in cold or hot environments.
  • Perform electrical work within NEC standards.
  • Oversee installations and repairs by third-party contractors ensuring work is performed within NEC guidelines.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner by utilizing time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to consistently deliver exceptional results with little to no guidance.
  • Must be an independent worker who takes ownership of projects but can also work well and achieve goals in a team environment.
  • Must take initiative and be flexible, adapt well to change, and be willing to take on ad-hoc tasks.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of energy management systems
  • Proficient in electrical controls and circuitry
  • Reading schematics
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, and maintenance repairs
  • Working knowledge of Three Phase 480 Volt motors and circuitry
