About the Role

Stratus Restaurant is seeking an experienced Host/Hostess to join its team and create memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will make a positive first impression, manage reservations, and handle guest inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests warmly, exceeding service expectations.
• Demonstrate teamwork, uphold safe work practices, and maintain professional communication.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, standards, and core practices.
• Follow management directives willingly and assist with side work and cleaning tasks.
• Foster positive internal and external relationships and stay informed about events and hospitality standards.
• Handle guest reservations, verify online bookings, maintain the seating chart, and address service needs.
• Communicate special occasions, dietary concerns, and unique requests to colleagues.
• Act as the first point of contact for guest feedback and escalate concerns to management.
• Accurately update the customer database.

Requirements

• A warm, friendly demeanor with a passion for service excellence.
• Exceptional communication and social skills with 100% fluency in English.
• Impeccable standards of hygiene and grooming.
• Commitment to safe work practices and proactive injury minimization.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and make prompt, fair, and reasonable decisions.
• Skilled at managing multiple needs and resolving issues calmly, respectfully, and creatively.
• Interact with others respectfully, demonstrating sincerity, helpfulness, courtesy, and humility.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity.
• Competent in operating and maintaining departmental equipment, including Micros POS and OpenTable Reservations system.

Skills

• Upscale or fine-dining restaurant service experience
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis
• Current Smart Serve certification
