About the Role
We are seeking a Bid Specialist - Commercial Vehicle to support the Sales Manager in tendering activities for Commercial Vehicles. This role is crucial in compiling high-quality bid responses and ensuring successful tender submissions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Sales Manager in tendering activities.
- Collect tender information, review requirements, assess risks, and identify deliverables.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-tender negotiations.
- Compile high-quality bid responses within required timescales.
- Coordinate with internal departments (finance, technical, legal) for tender input.
- Lead tender meetings, presentations, and Q&A sessions, monitoring follow-up actions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and industry partners.
- Coordinate tender documentation and provide feedback to maximize success.
- Develop and update the library of tender resources/materials.
- Ensure all processes are followed and necessary documents are completed, updated, and filed.
- Maintain a tracker for open tenders and update outcomes for audit and reporting.
- Conduct post-tender reviews and analysis to drive improvements.
- Engage in market research to understand the competitor landscape.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Perform other related activities and contingent assignments.
- Report to the Sales Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a Commercial, Tendering, or Sales role, ideally in the bus and coach industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement/tender processes and contract terms.
- Thorough understanding of ESG.
- Good command of English is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident communicator.
- Excellent time management, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to cope with tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Effective project management and negotiation capabilities.
- Adept at interpreting large volumes of information and summarising key points.
- Good interpersonal skills, strong team collaboration and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
- Proactive, ability to work independently and resourceful.
- Computer proficient, especially in the use of MS Office.
