About the Role

The Bartender is responsible for providing gracious, kind, and warm service to create an exciting environment and deliver World Class Service with Old-World Hospitality and Charm for casino guests. This role involves maintaining cleanliness standards, serving beverages, possessing extensive menu knowledge, taking orders, anticipating guest needs, delivering orders, and processing payments. The focus is on departmental goals of Consistency, Quality, and Sense of Urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for being punctual to pre-shift meetings with a positive attitude and openly participating.
  • Consistently provide an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality with Old-World Charm, as well as live the company core values.
  • Comply with department standards, guidelines, and objectives, including adherence to Food Service and Sanitation, OSHA, and Hazcom standards.
  • Provide consistent high-quality food and beverage service to all guests by adhering to sequence of service standards.
  • Utilize upselling techniques.
  • Adhere to all standardized recipes.
  • Safeguard company assets and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and be accountable for all funds entrusted during an assigned shift.
  • Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.
  • Balance all money transactions and paperwork.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including attendance, appearance, and confidentiality regarding guest information.
  • Be alert for fraud, forged/counterfeit currency and/or vouchers.
  • Balance all funds under his/her responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports.
  • Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clear and organized work area, cleaning as you go and cleaning spills immediately.
  • Responsible for the use of chemicals as prescribed and responsibly.
  • Ensure all chemicals are in properly labeled containers.
  • Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away adhering to the 5S Principles.
  • Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive manner.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department.
  • Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Take appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior bartending experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
