Responsibilities

  • Develop or contribute to software solutions for engineering projects within the assigned application or platform area.
  • Create, maintain, and support high-quality, maintainable code aligned with development standards and best practices.
  • Document system design specifications, technical decisions, and implementation details to support delivery and ongoing maintenance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, code demonstrations, and sprint story refinement to support iterative delivery.
  • Support after-hours deployment activities to implement team code releases into production.
  • Analyze and remediate application vulnerabilities within required timelines and in alignment with security standards.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, provide feedback, and contribute to supporting documentation.
  • Document and validate system components, applications, infrastructure, security, integration, operability, and architecture designs associated with programs or projects.
  • Provide technical expertise during incident management, including analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution support.
  • Promote the use of AI tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve developer productivity and increase automation across the team.
  • Identify and recommend development, testing, automation, or engineering tools that support project and application objectives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree, Postgraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  • 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in Java, RESTful APIs, Spring, and Spring Boot development.
  • Experience with Git-based source control tools, including GitHub and Bitbucket.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and development automation.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Experience with, or working knowledge of, Kafka and Confluent Cloud technologies is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience supporting Linux servers and remediating application or infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Comfortable using Copilot to support automation and improve development pipeline efficiency.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within an Agile engineering team.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver value with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and development practices.
  • Goal-oriented, with the ability to understand business objectives and align technical work to broader team outcomes.
  • Able to break down complex technical problems and communicate solutions in a clear, practical way.
  • Strong technical foundation, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies in a software engineering environment.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work, meet delivery timelines, and support team commitments where dependencies exist.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, business partners, and stakeholders.
