About the Role

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and buildings are fully operational.

Responsibilities

• Perform needed maintenance on equipment to support production operating needs.
• Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary actions for malfunctions or improvements.
• Participate in planning activities and manage plant utilities including chiller, air compressor, security system, and fire protection system.
• Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders, capturing and communicating associated data.
• Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters.
• Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools, and other metalworking equipment.
• Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
• Comply with and participate in regulatory, Carlisle, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
• Execute projects as directed on an as-needed basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret industrial documents and electrical drawings.
• Industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to repair/rebuild industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps, gear boxes, and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of CMMS, SAP, and MS programs.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize hand tools (shop tools).
• Ability to fabricate and weld.
• Awareness of PLCs, low and high electrical voltage, and 24 VDC – 480 VAC.
• Inter-personal skills, including the ability to be a team player.
• Ability to pass on information and training to others.
• Understanding of OSHA and industrial safety protocols.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment safely.
