About the Role

The Family Support Counselor provides family-centered mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination for youth and their families. Working within a multidisciplinary team, this role delivers trauma-informed, culturally responsive services in homes, schools, and community settings to help families build stability and strengthen relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and case management services for enrolled youth and their families
  • Connect clients and families to natural supports and community-based resources
  • Deliver crisis intervention and mental health services in homes, schools, and community locations
  • Participate in treatment reviews, staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
  • Complete mental health notes, service tracking, and required documentation
  • Assist with planning and transportation for school, therapy, and court appointments
  • Participate in scheduled emergency on-call rotations
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques, including physical management when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Associate degree with 1 year of applicable experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of applicable experience
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and own vehicle
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to obtain TB test and fingerprinting clearance
  • Compliance with state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Salary/Compensations

  • $27.01 - $29.51 per hour
  • Additional compensation for bilingual proficiency
