About the Role

A non-profit clinic is seeking a Family Practitioner to provide full-spectrum medical care to patients of all ages, supporting the organization's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services normally expected of a family practitioner in office practice.
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat medical illnesses.
  • Evaluate patient health status and initiate therapeutic and preventive measures.
  • Make appropriate referrals to specialty and other consultative medical services.
  • Treat the entire spectrum of family medicine, including outpatient management of HIV disease.
  • Carry a patient caseload consistent with quality of care and productivity standards.
  • Communicate ongoing patient health needs with other healthcare providers and staff.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including progress notes and forms for data collection, reimbursement, and regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Attend medical staff meetings and conferences as required.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing medical education.
  • Participate in teaching paramedical personnel on diagnostic and therapeutic activities.
  • Assist in peer review chart audits and other quality activities.
  • Supervise patient care activities of assigned paramedical personnel.
  • Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
  • Practice accepted infection control measures.
  • Be available at least one evening a week.
  • Willingness to work weekend clinic based on availability and need.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical School.
  • Completion of a Family Practice or Osteopathic Medicine Residency Program.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Family Practice.
  • Licensure to practice medicine in the State of New York with current registration.
  • Progressive work experience in an ambulatory care setting (emergency room, clinic, or health center).
  • Professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Commitment to exceeding patient expectations.
  • Works well with others.
  • Contributes input to improve outcomes.
  • Asks others for opinions and feedback; provides feedback tactfully and respectfully.
  • Six Months introductory period.

Skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
  • Competent in Prenatal Care (Preferred)

Salary/Compensations

  • $195,000 (Board Eligible)
  • $205,000 (Board Certified)

Benefits

  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (5K at offer, 5K after six months)
