About the Role

GFT is seeking a Project Manager, Municipal Roads to join our Transportation Practice in Toronto. This role involves managing municipal roadway projects, supporting business development, and nurturing client relationships within a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a project manager or team lead on municipal roadway projects.
  • Participate in and support pursuit and business development efforts.
  • Nurture and develop client relationships.
  • Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of technical quality on the projects.
  • Mentor project staff and participate in hiring processes.
  • Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations within the roads and highways team.

Requirements

  • A university degree in civil engineering or related degree.
  • P.Eng. designation required.
  • 10+ years of related project experience on municipal roadway projects.
  • Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
  • Technical excellence in civil & roadway design.
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration and claims resolution.
  • Experience in BRT, LRT including intermodal transit facilities is an asset.
  • Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects is an asset.
  • Local candidates will be given preference.

  • $108,000.00 to $163,000.00
