About the Role

Toppan Merrill has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and results-driven IT Sourcing & Procurement Category Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies across the Information Technology category, partnering closely with IT, Finance, Legal, Security, and business leaders to deliver value, optimize costs, mitigate risk, and support organizational objectives. As the subject matter expert for IT procurement, you will manage sourcing initiatives and supplier relationships across software, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, cybersecurity solutions, managed services, and IT consulting. You will drive strategic sourcing best practices, contract negotiations, vendor performance management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category management strategies that align with short- and long-term business goals.
  • Analyze category spend, market trends, supplier capabilities, and business requirements to identify sourcing opportunities and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, evaluations, negotiations, and supplier selection processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders on procurement strategies, contract terms, supplier management, and technology investments.
  • Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with business priorities and compliance requirements.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, pricing agreements, licensing terms, statements of work (SOWs), and service-level agreements (SLAs) to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish governance processes to monitor vendor performance, risk, service delivery, and contractual compliance.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by providing market intelligence, cost projections, and sourcing recommendations.
  • Identify and drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives across the IT spend portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Ensure procurement policies, controls, and governance requirements are followed throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reports, business cases, and project updates to senior leadership.
  • Assist business stakeholders with ROI evaluations, business justification development, and total cost of ownership analyses for technology investments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, stakeholder experience, and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement with a primary focus on Information Technology categories.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and negotiating agreements for software, SaaS, cloud services, hardware, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and IT professional services.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, cloud consumption agreements, IT vendor management, and technology procurement best practices.
  • Experience managing complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations with leading technology providers.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, Compliance, and business teams.
  • Strong analytical, financial, contract negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to assess supplier risk, evaluate business cases, and deliver measurable cost savings and value improvements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • $100,000 - $135,000 annually
  • Eligible for AIP bonus program
