About the Role
Supervise, coordinate, and oversee logistics operations, providing coaching, development, and training to staff. The role involves recommending facility, equipment, and process improvements, ensuring staff performance meets standards, and achieving business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day logistics operations.
- Plan and review logistics processes in collaboration with the Logistics Manager to meet company standards and customer service specifications.
- Establish work schedules and procedures, coordinating worker activities for optimal logistics.
- Accountable for site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with customers on all aspects of operations.
- Meet regularly with team members to monitor progress, track performance, coach, counsel, and recognize successes.
- Cultivate team spirit through Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and promote cooperation by improving internal processes.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend awards or merit increases.
- Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary processes.
- Understand labor agreements and maintain positive labor relations.
- Implement and ensure adherence to health & safety, security initiatives, practices, behaviors, and company rules and policies.
- Provide orientation and necessary resources to employees and Lead Hands.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- H.S. diploma/GED required.
- One (1) year or more experience in transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
- 0 to One (1) year direct supervisory/leadership experience required.
