About the Role

The successful candidate will join the S&P Global Ratings’ Sovereign and International Public Finance (IPF) ratings team, working closely with senior leadership and analytical oversight councils. This team manages high-profile government and public sector related credits, including multilateral financial institutions, assigning and monitoring ratings, and ensuring rating consistency. The role offers exposure to senior global stakeholders in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts.
  • Drive consistency and scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption.
  • Strengthen AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations.
  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases.
  • Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery.
  • Own surveillance and updates for assigned portfolio, synthesizing performance and market signals.
  • Support LLM tools and automation to accelerate workflows, followed by validation and refinement.
  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.
  • Prepare and review inputs, reconcile metrics, and document assumptions.
  • Prepare and review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology.
  • Support maintenance and review of models to ensure robustness and repeatability.
  • Engage with external parties alongside senior team members.
  • Craft client and executive-ready stories that translate complex data and analysis into a clear narrative.
  • Advise on issues within clear parameters, integrating and communicating complex information.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and adaptable delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance.
  • Embed responsible, governed AI use, utilizing only approved tools and data.
  • Drive controlled automation and agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements and controls.
  • Support decisions relating to guardrails for automation, defining what can be automated versus what must remain human-led.

Requirements

  • Coordinator for the Global, Sovereign & regional IPF AOCCs, supporting AOCC chairs and regional sector leads.
  • Support for Chief Analytical Officer, Head of Sovereign and Multilateral Institutions Ratings on research projects and initiatives.
  • Support for planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to enhance analytics quality and market impact.
  • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database application skills.
  • Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits, delivering high quality with limited oversight.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, influencing through credibility and constructive challenge.
  • Coaching capability that improves team consistency through shared standards and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • AI fluency with judgment.
  • Strong credit, financial, and risk analysis linking drivers to forward-looking views and risk appetite.
  • Practical experience embedding AI, LLMs, and agents into workflows to improve productivity and insight.
  • Strong analytical tool capability and willingness to learn data/automation tools.
  • Strong synthesis into concise narratives for senior stakeholders/committees with transparent evidence.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to present research and analysis clearly.
  • High standards for quality, traceability, and governance; operates effectively in controlled environments.

  • Ability to contribute to scalable automation/agent workflows.
