About the Role
As an Account Manager, you are the backbone of the account team, closest to every project and understanding its relation to the brand's bigger goals. You champion flawless execution and foster the creative process from briefing to release. The ideal candidate is eternally optimistic, an exceptional communicator, an organizational expert, and an advocate for cross-departmental integration.
Responsibilities
- Manage job change forms, own status reports, and oversee estimates/billing.
- Craft and distribute conference reports and meeting agendas.
- Assist with meeting preparation.
- Lead the creative process from briefing to presentation, production, and release.
- Problem-solve, find solutions, and remove roadblocks to great work.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure clear communication on project status and future needs.
- Secure advantageous resources and timing for projects.
- Ensure client meetings are successful by planning attendees, objectives, and focus areas.
- Manage relationships effectively with supervisors, junior team members, peers, and clients.
- Understand strategy and ensure it translates into day-to-day account activity.
- Know the client's business and how creative work aligns with strategy.
- Identify deep issues in culture, category, or business that clients may overlook.
- Partner with creative teams to deliver cutting-edge, smart, and creative work that meets client needs.
- Inspire ideas and build upon others' contributions.
- Nurture relationships with clients (from CMO's Admin to Marketing Research Manager) and partner agencies.
- Build the client's business by understanding their operations and financial drivers.
- Track results and lead optimization efforts.
- Help clients achieve success within their organizations.
- Consistently deliver on promises and ensure agency delivery.
- Stay updated on the competitive landscape and cultural trends to inspire new ideas.
- Act as a student of the agency's and client's businesses.
- Train, guide, and empower Assistant Account Managers and interns.
- Share knowledge and provide learning opportunities for junior team members.
- Develop personal skill sets and seek out growth opportunities.
- Demonstrate a commanding presence while actively listening.
- Lead conversations and incite participation in meetings.
- Organize chaos and calm challenging situations.
Requirements
- BA required, preferred concentration in advertising, communications or marketing.
- 2+ years of agency experience (preferred) or related communication industry experience.
- Understanding of advertising, marketing, paid and social media, creative, production, research, direct marketing, finance, etc.
- Strategic thought leadership.
- Strong presentation and writing skills.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Management/team-building skills.
- Ability to effectively and confidently balance client and agency expectations and business goals.
- Ability to anticipate and address potential client issues, advising agency management proactively.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented in a production-intensive environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite or Mac equivalent.
